the principal parts of verbs

Principal parts

A verb has four unique principal parts:
The Present
The Present Particle
The Past
The Past Participle

Regular verbs form the past  and past participle
Just by adding   -ed  to the present form.

Present: walk  (now)

Present Participle:  (am) walking (continous term)

Past : walked ( this morning, yesterday  )

Past Participle :  (have) walked  (last year, )

In the case of an irregular  verb it form the past and past participle by changing  form
not by adding -ed.

Present:  go (now)

Present Participle: (am) going  (continous term)

Past: went  ( this morning, yesterday)

Past Participle:  (have) gone  (last year)
