How to use figure of speech

Figures of speech:

These are used to generate backgrounds , evoke your thoughts  and make a twist to an understanding.
We used them to put a little more flavor .

They're three famous  figure of speech used:

Simile

This is comparing of two object or subject.
It is done by using term "as or like".
e.g: The man is as tall as a coconut tree.
Comparing how the man is so tall, that he actually exceeded the length of the  coconut tree.
(1). As long as a road
(2). As easy as 123
(3). As sweet as sugar

Metaphor

This is also another comparison too between two thing or person.
The difference is a metaphor don't use "as" or "like".
e.g: He's a breathe of fresh air.
         (1). He sits on his head.
         (2). He lives in my heart
         (3). Give me a hand

Personification

This is another form of comparing in which  none human uses human personalities.
e.g: The tree danced  with the sounds of the wind.
        (1). The trees laughed after the rain.
        (2). The river walks from bank to bank.
        (3).  The rain cries heavy showers on me.
